SiC Silicon Carbide

Silicon carbide (Chemical formula: SiC) is a chemical compound comprised of carbon and silicon. SiC Silicon carbide is extremely hard with a Mohs hardness of 9. Silicon carbide is produced by mixing, smelting, and reacting with quartz sand, petroleum coke or coal coke, wood chips, and salt (for green silicon carbide production) in an electric resistance furnace temperature around 2,500 C.
SiC Silicon carbide has superior properties such as high wear resistance, high hardness, high strength, high-temperature resistance,high-temperature strength, low density, low thermal expansion, oxidation resistance, excellent chemical stability, high thermal and shock resistance.
